The palest ink is better than the best memory – Chinese Proverb
Louise Charles lives in Italy with her ‘Man Friday’ Simon and their rescue pup Bertie. Louise Charles is a pen name of Jo Lamb, made up from her and Simon’s middle names. Louise Charles is the name under which Jo writes fiction, sometimes on her own and sometimes in partnership with ‘Charles’.
Louise has always read and written. She has a passion for fountain pens and untouched writing paper. At present, Louise owns five pens; a Schaeffer, Snorkel (1950’s), Waterman and two Lamy pens for everyday scribbles. She also has access to Simon’s fathers Parker Pen, and his Rotring.
Louise (and Charles) moved to Italy in 2006 having sold up in the UK , and with very little capital to their name, made a commitment to start to live life differently. Free of the financial shackles and poor as a church mouse, they live of the land, about 2 acres in total. With 50 aging vines, 30 odd olive trees and four veggie patches, they are learning to cultivate the land the Italian way, by the moon – Lunar Orto. Their progress can be followed at La Buona Vita - a blog inhabited by 'a man that does' and a 'Duchess'.
As Jo Lamb she is editor for two international journals with Emerald Publishing and regularly publishes non-fiction articles on the web and for magazines and journals. More details can be found at Jo's website - Writing Pad
